CHAIR: Mary Lou Byrne & Tammy Silver
Every week, Pasadena Rotary club presents a speaker at its lunchtime meeting. The presentation starts around 1 pm, and is finished around 1:25 pm (with a little time for Q&A at the end). We have a variety of outstanding speakers on a wide range of topics of interest to both the club members and the community. If you have suggestions for speakers, please feel free to contact the Chairs of the Program Committee. Some guidelines are:
1) A Pasadena Rotarian must have heard the individual speak and she or he must have both an interesting topic (see categories below) and must be an interesting speaker (the so-called Nat Read rule, the former Rotarian who promulgated the policy);
2) The Rotarian can present the topic to the Program Committee (we meet the second Monday of the month via zoom at 4:00 pm);
3) The proposed program should fit into the categories adopted, which are:
· Summer Fun (July 1 – September 15)
· Local and/or General Interest (the best-attended meetings focus on local issues)*
· Arts and Entertainment
· Science, Technology and Innovation
o Space exploration
o Climate change (Rotary’s new program post Polio)
· Pasadena Angels (Local VC firm)/Start-ups
· Educational trends
· Rotary Programs and/or Rotary Start-ups
· Sports and Recreation
