The Public Image Committee creates and implements a plan to tell Rotary’s story to the public and its members in promoting the club’s projects and activities. This could be through social media, news releases or having a physical presence (such as a Pasadena Rotary table at events).
Having strong public relations ensures Rotary is a credible organization that meets real needs to the community. When a Rotary club has a positive public image, current members are motivated to be active, and prospective members to join.
The Pasadena Rotary Club Public Image Committee outreaches through:
Rotary Facebook site – publish Weekly Program off the Newsletter. Publishes photos & synopsis of Rotary events as provided by Committees.
Local Media – Sends press releases to local media for Programs that may be of interest to the community. Example may be The Mayor speaking or topics of interest. A write up taken from the Newsletter and photo is sent. Also any type of Rotary fundraiser that is going on.
Press Releases are also sent to media for “DO GOOD” by Rotary Pasadena: Done In A Day; Project Corzaon; RYLA; Bike Give Away, Community Grants; Happy Feet; Read Across America; Shop With A Cop; Teachers of Excellence; Teen Leadership; Four Way Speech; and Dan Stover Contest.
Committee Chairs using the Public Relations formats provides the PR Committee with information and photos in order to create the postings and press releases.
The social media team members purpose is to use the latest technology for communicating our club’s information to our members and our community. By using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Press Releases, our websites and emails we can keep the public and members informed in all aspects of the Pasadena Rotary member’s efforts to help our community and the people who live here. Each day we hope to make the community just a little be better.
